Elsy David brings over 20 years of experience in the social service field working in women’s health, addictions, homelessness, mental health, and domestic violence. As the Program Director at WISE, the most important contribution that she makes to the community is empowering women who have experienced violence to develop strategies for rebuilding their lives. After 15 years at WISE, she’s encouraged by the changes that she has seen, and the many amazing women that she has encountered in her work. Elsy also works with communities across the city to improve public spaces for women through the community safety audit program offered at WISE. These improvements help women to have a voice in the design of public spaces which are safe for all vulnerable groups.
